Preparation
Step One…
Record your video. Makes sure that the green screen or fabric has no wrinkles in them and also to make sure there are no shadows. If there are any shadows it will make it harder to get an even image in the green screen. One way to make sure there are no shadows could be stand a few feet away from the screen.
Another tip would be to not wear anything green, Makes life harder.
Step Two…
Choose an Image or video that you would like in the background.
Editing Room
Step Three…
Import all the appropriate videos and images. Edit the parts that you will like to have in your final outcome. When you are happy with the part that you thing is appropriate, move on to step four.
Step Four…
Drag the edited scene to video one in the timeline. Makes sure that it is the right footage and you are happy with it. Makes sure that sound is also clear and what you would like to hear in the footage. If it is for lip-syncing purposes the best thing you could do is muting the sound.
Step Five…
Create a second video in the timeline, you can do this by . Move the edited post that you would like to be the green screen image or video into the timeline under the green screen footage.
Step Six…
Select the green screen footage in the timeline. Then click on video effects. Then go to the Keying folder, and then click on chromo key. Then a tab will be opened in the same place you usually edit your videos before adding them to the time like. Click on effect control.
Step Seven…
Click on chromo key, click on the colour dropper and select a green on the screen next to the effects control tab. By doing this you will see parts of he green screen would be selected. In order to select the entire green screen you will have to shift the similarity key in order to get most of the green screen cover. You will then be able to see the image or video in the background. However if you shift the similarity key too much you will find that the subject or character will disappear.
Step Eight…
At this point most of the green screen is gone but usually there is a faint outline around the subject or character. In order to get rid of this the best thing to do is to use the blending key to get rid of them you will also have to make sure that you don’t got too far or you will cut the subject or character out too.
Step Nine…
The green screen is now done. The best thing to do now is to check that the timeline has also picked up all they change. If you are using a video background the best thing to do is to mute the sound on that video.
