The Original Owl City Video Concept

Owl city as describes fireflies "a little song about bugs and not being able to fall asleep at night," though the fireflies in the song's title also serve as a metaphor for the loss of childlike imagination and wonder in adulthood.

When the video starts all the toys are stationary. Until the artist Owl City switches on the keyboard which symbolizes the beginning of the imaginary world.
The name of the song is fireflies and the lyrics do not have a narrative structure to help understand or develop video.
However through some of the lyrics such “planet earth moves slowly” there’s a globe of the world lit up which works well with part of the verse.

On a small screen the main lines that owl city wants to put emphasis on are written across. Therefore audience can catch on quickly.

However over all Owl citys ‘s does not follow a narrative structure therefore makes it have traits of a postmodern video also in the video the toys are walking around which in reality this cannot be real therefore this shows how postmodern the original video is.
